Winners of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences 2026
1. Robert E. Hall
Stanford economist Robert E. Hall is known for linking household consumption decisions to expectations of future income. His “random walk” model showed that predictable income changes have limited impact on current spending.
2. Michael Woodford
Columbia University’s Michael Woodford developed the modern New Keynesian framework, integrating rational expectations, sticky prices and forward guidance into monetary theory. His work underpins much of today’s central-bank policy analysis.
