Industry Definition SC: Nine-Judge Bench Scraps 1978 Triple Test
Industry Definition SC has been clarified by a nine-judge bench of the Supreme Court, which held that the expansive interpretation of ‘industry’ laid down in the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board v. R. Rajappa judgment (1978) will not govern the interpretation of ‘industry’ under the Industrial Relations Code (IRC), 2020.
