What is PM-KISAN Scheme?
PM-KISAN Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme launched in 2018 under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. It provides direct income support to eligible landholding farmer families to meet agricultural input costs and household requirements.
Eligible families receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every four months through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The initial two-hectare landholding limit has been removed, making all eligible landholding farmer families beneficiaries irrespective of land size.
