- The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has launched ‘Harit Sagar’ Green PortGuidelines 2023 to achieve the Zero Carbon Emission Goal.
- The ‘Harit Sagar’ Guidelines provide a framework for major ports to develop an action plan for reducing carbon emissions within defined timelines. By implementing green initiatives and closely monitoring their progress, ports can actively contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while quantifiably reducing their carbon footprint. This aligns with the larger vision of achieving Zero Carbon Emission Goals and mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
